Featured Tracks This Week: #14 2025

As ever, all the tracks that make it onto the playlist are aces in my book but if I absolutely, positively had to pick no more than five to check out this week, it’d be these.

Hellcat Speedracer + Kobie Dee – JUMP! (single)

๐ŸŽถ The latest upload from Hellcat Speedracer does absolutely nothing to hurt their growing rep as this decade’s Aussie version of Chemical Brothers, their big beat collaborations – this time round with Kobie Dee – delivering giant blows to the centre of the brain, wired and crackling with electricity. Short, sharp, and spectacular, it manages to be both punk as fuck and a dancefloor destroyer all at the same time. Chops, slapped.

Polish Club – S.N.A.F.U (AA-side single with โ€˜TAKE ITโ€™)

๐ŸŽถ The soul in singer David Novakโ€™s voice has always added extra texture to Polish Clubโ€™s high-energy guitar-and-drums, and they all collide here at high temperatures and at high speeds, savage and soaring in equal measure.

Allo Darlin’ – Tricky Questions (single)

๐ŸŽถ Allo Darlin’ aren’t – and haven’t been – based in Australia for a very long time, but a very long time ago I ran into them in Scotland and they were very, very lovely. To hear they’re releasing music again has made my whole week – to hear it was with a song this rich and charming just poured cream over the whole thing. Welcome back, legends.

Charlie Collins – Transactional Deal (single)

๐ŸŽถ Charlie Collins has taken her time before returning to the fray with new music, but the wait was fully worth it. You can hear the craft thatโ€™s gone into this gently furious track, rage and disappointment packed into a track that floats with care and delicacy.

Party Crashers – Stoked with Your Diagnosis (single)

๐ŸŽถ The jangle alone in Party Crashersโ€™ thoughtful slice of indie pop is enough to crack the enamel off your teeth. Literate and wry and not a little wonderful.
