Featured Tracks This Week: #36 2025

As ever, all the tracks that make it onto the playlist are aces in my book but if I absolutely, positively had to pick no more than five to check out this week, it’d be these.

If you’re looking for new albums, all the new long-players I’ve spotted from emerging, independent, and DIY artists are here

SINGLE

Lotte Gallagher – SHOWDOWN

Shining bright enough to blind, Lotte Gallagher alternates between a gentle breeze and explosions of light and noise, all wrapped up with a vocal rich in heartache.

SINGLE

Great Job! – Falling Of The Vigour

Great Job! deliver a full-throated roar on their latest, bellowing over dense, scatty, and tense rhythms. One of their loudest and one of their best – the scream of the crop.

SINGLE

kayls – I Wanna Die

Bouncing and gently whimisical in form, this is sharply-constructed stuff and its theme of utter mortification is (far too) relatable. Big feels, feels big.

SINGLE

Baker Boy (feat. Thelma Plum, Emma Donovan, Kee’ahn & Jada Weazel) – THICK SKIN

Baker Boy opens this track with a truly wonderful racket before turning on a dime to allow a stellar guest lineup to shine. A wild, wild ride.

SINGLE

Speed Bumps – Speedin’

Sounding like it’s spitting out its own teeth, Speed Bumps’ raucous and jagged punk roars like a feral beast, all mouth and fury. Gloriously unsafe.
