“A Battlesnake show can only ever be itself – un-improvable, un-repeatable, un-ignorable. It’s so over the top it’s like you’re looking at it from Google Maps, both a very good joke and a stunning set of songwriting and musicianship. High-voltage Judas Priest rock meets the theatrics of Spinal Tap’s ‘Stonehenge’ and the resulting car crash of harmonised solos and costumery is enough to raise the dead. Or to kill them all over again? It’s one of the two, it’s not always clear which. It is, however, always daftly-conceived and magnificently-executed fun.”
