“DOBBY’s voice is a precision weapon, in both delivery and message. Eye-wateringly fast in flow and gut-churningly direct in subject – colonialisation, climate destruction, racism – it’s a whirlwind of language and fury set to deft, rumbling beats and DJ-ing. The anger is not born from wild-eyed or unrestrained fury though, there’s a deep core of caring at its heart. Towards the end of the set DOBBY puts his taekwondo-trained foot straight through a wooden board, which then introduces a deeply moving tribute song dedicated to a lost martial arts teacher. In the end, it’s that mix of heart and fight that makes it all unstoppable.”
