“Dysfunction are bassist-less tonight, so parts of the set end have to choose between having a drummer or having drummer on bass. Normally that’d be a dull detail to note, but the odd chance of hearing parts of a pop-punk set without any drums reveals some lovely details, not least a haunting and lovely Kelly Clarkson cover. When the rhythms kick in though – and even though it’s missing its low-end rumble – it’s still as generous and soaring as you’d really ever need.”
