“GUSH struggle to make their guitar pedals function before the off, but the outcome is worth it for the titanic blasts of squall they generate, by turns blistering or bouyant. The songs veer from gambolling in lush pastures to the hidden menace of a snowy Norwegian forest, happily bouncing one second and murderously heavy the next, but it’s always explosively loud. Turning the amps to eleven would be turning it down.”
