“Monstahouse are a soft exterior masking a ferocious temper, a set of songs that sneak up quietly then bite your feet clean off at the ankle. Example? A song introduced as being based on Stevie Smith’s poem “Not Waving But Drowning” – it’s based on a poem ffs – starts off like the quiet end to a quiet night but ends with bits of your face melting off and clogging up the drains. It’s always the quiet ones you need to watch out for.”
