“It’s my first time seeing Suiix tonight, and while I was expecting the crystal-clear, ice-cold, electronic pop of their recorded stuff, we get a slightly less bloopy version tonight that’s more raw and more raucous than on record. Smooth as soft serve, but with a malevolent grin on its face, it’s a shrewd and sharp set – while the synth and singer Sarah’s dreamy vocal dominate, the band fill the room with with enough warm, funny and human moments to keep the machines from taking over entirely.”

I would like to acknowledge that the gigs that are pictured here, the stages they’re played on, the bars and venues they’re held in, and the good times they represent, are all held on lands that were never ceded by Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. I acknowledge these First Australians as the traditional custodians of the continent, whose cultures are among the oldest living cultures in human history. I pay respect to the Elders of the community and extend my recognition to their descendants.
