More Artists And More Free Music Announced For SXSW Sydney 2025

At an intimate launch event at The Abercrombie, SXSW Sydney announced more details around their free music programme in Tumbalong Park, due to run across the week of 13-19 October, as well as adding more artists to their confirmed list.

At Tumbalong Park, the big news is that The Rubens – celebrating the 10th anniversary of their album ‘Hoops‘ – will be headlining and co-curating a mini-festival on Saturday 18th October, which will be open and free to the public and will also feature Folk Bitch Trio and Mariae Cassandra.

Other artists have also been announced for the Tumbalong Park stage including music from across Asia on Tuesday 14th Oct featuring Tenxi & Jemsii, Angela Ken, Tia Ray, and PSYCHIC FEVER, and a country themed day on Friday 17th Oct with Max Jackson, The Washboard Union, Lewis Love, and Big Wheels.

The free schedule is also being expanded to include the Seymour Centre, which will have musical performances, although there are no details on those shows yet.

The official site has been updating their list of confirmed artists to reflect all that, and the total is now up to 84 artists – you can see that full list on the official site, or you can use my nerdy dashboard which also lets you break it down by genre and country.
