This dashboard shows all the best-performing artists appearing on the most credible Australian new music playlists.
This means they have all appeared on at least two playlists with <10k followers and at least one playlist with >10k followers (ie those artists who are appealing to some degree to both independent and major playlisters).
You can rank and re-order by a number of metrics including the two scores I’ve created to level the playing field a bit for more emerging artists:
TUS Score: this looks at local-only performance, and takes into account the size of the artist’s follower count compared to the number and size of the playlists they’ve been added to. This means that a smaller artist appearing on a large playlist will score more highly than an established artist with the same spot, on the basis that it is much harder for a smaller artist to access a larger playlist.
Global TUS Score: the second score takes those local appearances and amends the score to take additional global playlist adds into account – as well as the above weightings, it also then rewards artists for international appearances beyond Australian playlists.
