Most Playlisted: King Stingray, Gold Fang

It should come as no surprise to see King Stingray & Gold Fang share the top spot for the most adds on the best new music playlists in Australia this week – Gold Fang is the #2 most-added artist over the last two years, and King Stingray are #1. That support is clearly not going anywhere.

Forest Claudette was only just behind though, and their rapid growth over the last twelve months is ensuring that playlister support remains rock solid – again, few surprises to see them near the top (and especially if youโ€™ve been paying attention to my Making Noise series).

It fell to the excellent A. Swayze & The Ghosts to be the Story Of The Week, and the weekโ€™s only real surprise. After a lengthy gap since their last release, they dive back in with a ton of latent goodwill from tastemakers, bagging more spots than a good number of more established acts.

The image above is a screenshot of the top end of the full lists. You can see this week’s lists here – those are updated on Mondays and allow you to scroll down the whole list. That page also details a bit more about how the whole thing works and what the charts mean.

You can also listen to the most playlisted tracks on, er, a playlist that I keep updated here. This has got the latest 50-ish most playlisted tracks from the last month or so on it, and it’s a decent spin through recent tracks that Australian new music playlisters are adding. The playlists that I track are the same as the ones listed in the Playlist Guide.
