My robots scurry around the internet tracking which artists are getting added to the best Australian new music playlists on Spotify, in order to see who’s getting the most support from tastemakers, and who’s likely to blow up next.
Caroline & Claude‘s epic year-long run of support ended on a high note in November, with this crisp new outfit topping the list of most-added artists across the best new music playlists in Australia. That’s quite the achievement all on its own, but to take up more playlist real estate across the month than some FAR bigger artists, it’s even better news for them heading into 2023.
Elsewhere, it was great to see Yb. and Kira Puru have such strong months, alongside other reliably well-supported players like Ninajirachi, KUΔKA, and the outstanding Alex Lahey. Meanwhile, at the biggest end of town, Matt Corby, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and Flume all topped their own divisions, with the sort of support artists of their size would expect.
Looking outside of the winners towards signs of seriously promising support and potential for continuing growth, ENOLA had a terrific month, while Liyah Knight, Chutney, and WILSN remain three growing artists to keep a super-close eye on.
