Alongside their rapid growth, critic support for Royel Otis is certainly not fading, with a whopping 38% of the playlists I track adding ‘Fried Rice’ this week, more than any other artist.
Most Playlisted This Week
🥇Royel Otis
🥈Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers
🥉1300, Alex Lahey
Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers released their ‘I Love You’ album this week too though, and tracks from that saw them just a sliver off the top spot. This full-length debut has been keenly awaited, and it the playlisters have given it a richly deserved stamp of approval.
Alex Lahey released a expanded version of her excellent ‘The Answer Is Always Yes’ album, and a new track on there – ‘When The Rain Comes Down‘ – received a roaring thumbs-up from a strong section of the playlisters.
1300 rounded out the podium this week and bagged the Story Of The Week too, this fast-growing act receiving more playlist spots than some more established artists.
It’s worth looking down the list a bit too though – in an average week JACOTÉNE, Molly Millington, and ENOLA would have made the top three, and to see that level of support for these exciting emerging artists is a strong signal to keep your eyes on them if you aren’t already.

The image above is a screenshot of the top end of the full lists. You can see this week’s lists here – those are updated on Mondays and allow you to scroll down the whole list. That page also details a bit more about how the whole thing works and what the charts mean.
You can also listen to the most playlisted tracks on, er, a playlist that I keep updated here. This has got the latest 50-ish most playlisted tracks from the last month or so on it, and it’s a decent spin through recent tracks that Australian new music playlisters are adding. The playlists that I track are the same as the ones listed in the Playlist Guide.
