Most Playlisted: Telenova

Telenova nabbed the most adds on the best Australian new music playlists this week with their latest track ‘Teardrop’. Interestingly, they have consistently been among the most widely-supported artists over the last two years, with only Phoebe Go and King Stingray getting wider backing across the lists I track. Now freshly-signed to EMI / Fiction this week, having this sort of support already in place is another positive for an act with a promising year ahead.

Most Playlisted This Week

🥇Telenova

🥈Jess Ribeiro, 3%

🥉Great Gable, Chanel Loren

Jess Ribeiro was only just behind though, and did particularly well to bag spots on some larger lists that hadn’t previously picked her up, including a spot on New Music Friday AU & NZ.

Great Gable continue to steadily grow their audience, knocking on the door of 50k Spotify followers, and getting a strong selection of support from the playlisters. Elsewhere, Chanel Loren also did outstandingly well, her collab with Brooklyn rapper exploding onto tons of great playlists.

Story Of The Week though goes to 3%, whose second single ‘Sleezy Steezy Cool‘ (feat Tia Gostelow) making it onto more lists than you’d normally see for an act so early on in its lifecycle. Granted, 3% isn’t made up of newbie artists by any stretch, but the level of support is a big signal that they’ve got a potential winner on their hands.

The image above is a screenshot of the top end of the full lists. You can see this week’s lists here – those are updated on Mondays and allow you to scroll down the whole list. That page also details a bit more about how the whole thing works and what the charts mean.

You can also listen to the most playlisted tracks on, er, a playlist that I keep updated here. This has got the latest 50-ish most playlisted tracks from the last month or so on it, and it’s a decent spin through recent tracks that Australian new music playlisters are adding. The playlists that I track are the same as the ones listed in the Playlist Guide.
