I love head-fakes like this. Starting off with a plaintive bit of emo, this song quickly shifts up through its gears and ends up somewhere else. You start off thinking this song is wearing a cardigan and having a nice cup of tea, but end up realising that it’s half-naked and hanging from the damn ceiling. Clever, articulate and – unlike too many other smarty-pants songwriters – massive fun.

I would like to acknowledge that the gigs that are pictured here, the stages they’re played on, the bars and venues they’re held in, and the good times they represent, are all held on lands that were never ceded by Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
