Lunatics On Pogosticks – Twenty Five

Lunatics On Pogosticks return after several years apart, and these former Unearthed High winners have grown up to learn some of the harder lessons life has to offer. Without so much as a trigger warning for suicidal thoughts and depression, this return to the fray doesn’t sugarcoat a thing right from the off, with stories and reflections on the loss of far-too-young friends and the perilous balancing of mental health. It’s still wrapped up in their familiar and infectious naive-art sound, but while the childlike wonder of the music is still there, it’s darker and bruised, scarred and toughened by the tragedies of life. A welcome return, even if the stories they bring with them are hard to hear.
