Snark – Whatever, Nevermind

Snark’s latest is a lot more upbeat (and contains a lot less 90s cynicism) than its Nirvana-quoting title would imply. This is a rumbly, thrummy pleasure of a track, where the guitars and the vocals take their turns in soaring high and wide, and it’s packed a lot of pleasure into its four walls. Following on from their excellent previous track ‘Wasted’, Snark are showing some pretty serious form right now.

I would like to acknowledge that the gigs that are pictured here, the stages they’re played on, the bars and venues they’re held in, and the good times they represent, are all held on lands that were never ceded by Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. I acknowledge these First Australians as the traditional custodians of the continent, whose cultures are among the oldest living cultures in human history.
