The over-arching purpose of The Underground Stage is to support emerging, independent, and DIY artists in Australia – but being an artist is hard work so, wherever possible, I also want to support folks without it causing any extra hassle.
To do that, I’ve built a ton of nerdy automation (not AI!) which means I can do things faster and more reliably – one of those things is following as many emerging, independent, and DIY artists from Australia on Spotify as I can (currently about 3k of you, past and present).
Because of the way that Spotify allows me to use their API, by following you it means I’m nearly certain to know when you have released a new track, without you needing to tell me. This is better for everyone – you save time not having to remind me, and I save time by getting all the week’s releases in one go. To make sure I know you’ve got a new release out, all I need you to do is let me know your Spotify URL.
Seriously, that’s it. No emailing me, no messaging, one less boring-ass admin thing to do in release week.

- check I don’t already follow you – if I do, you don’t need to do anything else!
- fill in the form at the URL if you do want me to follow you. After you’ve done that, I’ll double check that you are actually an
Australia-based artist (that’s all I ever talk about, there’s literally no point you submitting if you’re not in Oz!). Once I follow you though I’ll be alerted every time you drop something new.
