The Dandy Warhols Strut Back To Sydney In May

Across 30 years and 11 studio albums – and with a twelfth album being release in March – The Dandy Warhols return to Australia for a run of shows including a night at Enmore Theatre on 1st May.

One of the shinier stars of a grubby and disoriented late 90s alternative music landscape – and one of the more purely artistic acts of the era to boot – The Dandy Warholsโ€™ staying power is a stubborn testament to some of the absolute rippers they just keep throwing out.

โ€˜Bohemian Like Youโ€™ may have graced the speakers of every indie disco it ever went near, but their overall effect – louche, calculated but cool-as-fuck hipsterism – laid the groundwork for many bands who would come after (see: The Strokes).

Pitchfork in particular frequently hated on them and predicted their collapse over the decades, but with that siteโ€™s collapse into late-capitalismโ€™s dust it turns out theyโ€™ve had the last laugh. After all, if David Bowie rated them, who the hell is anyone else to argue?
