Most Playlisted: Teenage Dads

Teenage Dads continue their irresistible onward march to glory with a standout performance on the best Aussie new music playlists this week, with the bonkerz ‘Weaponz’ hitting the mark with nearly half of the lists that updated. More playlists updated this week than the average too, so that percentage slightly undercooks just how popular this lot are with critics right now.

Most Playlisted This Week

🥇Teenage Dads

🥈Joan & the Giants

🥉 San Cisco, Good Morning

The likes of Good Morning and San Cisco were only just in their wake – you’d expect that for artists of that size but, again, with a larger-than-usual amount of playlists updating, it slightly disguises how popular these tracks were. For context, each of them got enough adds to top the list in most weeks.

A clear Story Of The Week though was the latest track from Joan & the Giants. They also spent some of their week opening the WA mega-dates for P!nk – that no doubt help get them more than a passing glance from tastemakers but the quality of that track certainly deserves its second place spot this week, ahead of some far heavier hitters.

The image above is a screenshot of the top end of the full lists. You can see this week’s lists here – those are updated on Mondays and allow you to scroll down the whole list. That page also details a bit more about how the whole thing works and what the charts mean.

You can also listen to the most playlisted tracks on, er, a playlist that I keep updated here. This has got the latest 50-ish most playlisted tracks from the last month or so on it, and it’s a decent spin through recent tracks that Australian new music playlisters are adding. The playlists that I track are the same as the ones listed in the Playlist Guide.
