The Dandy Warhols Strut Back To Sydney In May

Across 30 years and 11 studio albums – and with a twelfth album being release in March – The Dandy Warhols return to Australia for a run of shows including a night at Enmore Theatre on 1st May.

One of the shinier stars of a grubby and disoriented late 90s alternative music landscape – and one of the more purely artistic acts of the era to boot – The Dandy Warhols’ staying power is a stubborn testament to some of the absolute rippers they just keep throwing out.

Bohemian Like You’ may have graced the speakers of every indie disco it ever went near, but their overall effect – louche, calculated but cool-as-fuck hipsterism – laid the groundwork for many bands who would come after (see: The Strokes).

Pitchfork in particular frequently hated on them and predicted their collapse over the decades, but with that site’s collapse into late-capitalism’s dust it turns out they’ve had the last laugh. After all, if David Bowie rated them, who the hell is anyone else to argue?
