Each week, my robots scour the best Australian new music playlists and look for who is getting the love from the most critics and tastemakers. This week’s podium finishers:

🏆 Always a band with rock-solid support, The Grogans landed squarely in the #1 spot this week with their latest single ‘Roundabout‘, taking another step towards the launch of their new album ‘Stagger‘, out in May.
💪 Another reliable favourite of playlisters, Teenage Joans were just a short skip behind, with their first track upload since July last year, and their second single proper since 2023.
🔥 Ball Park Music‘s appearance at the top end (with tracks for their latest ‘Like Love‘ album) is little surprise for a band so widely beloved, while Girl and Girl continue to do particularly well to keep pace.
👏 It was a banner week for emerging artists with Bean Magazine only narrowly missing the top spot, DEVAURA performing very strongly indeed, and Hellcat Speedracer (with Kobe Dee) hitting the mark with their massive new track ‘JUMP‘.
