Amends @ The Botany View, 7th Apr

“Amends have a new album out later in the year, and when new material sneaks into the set, you can hear the difference. Tonight we get just one, right at the end, but it comes with a subtle gear change up into higher revs, and the band are visibly more turbo-charged. Don’t get me wrong, these songs are all magnificent critters, standing in the urban smoke but looking out of the city to dustier horizons. No-one does this better in Australia right now – but we’re starting to see hints of how it’ll shift up a notch on the next release, less of the journey by horseback from previous albums and more towards the chrome of a big rig powering down remote highways.”
