“Cosmic Kahuna are fresh off the release of their debut LP, and presumably not-so-fresh at this last night of a pretty lengthy string of live dates. The LP’s called Paintstripper, and is named in that simple and direct way Australia excels at. Great big mountains covered in snow? Great Snowy Mountains. Great big desert full of sand? Great Sandy Desert. Hatful of songs that strip the paint off walls? There you go. Keep out of reach of children, and store in a cool, dry place. Danger of death if drunk.”

I would like to acknowledge that the gigs that are pictured here, the stages they’re played on, the bars and venues they’re held in, and the good times they represent, are all held on lands that were never ceded by Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
