“Lariska have a lot in their trick bag and decide to use all of it tonight. We get piano-driven, we get urgent, we get danceable, dreamy, fun, shouty, soaring… there’s so much musical skill in here but ultimately it’s like being hosed down with all of your favourite things. At the death – a crowd-demanded encore, for a support act – they drop The Buzzcocks’ “Ever Fallen In Love” and the place loses its collective head, like it’s the cement that plants them squarely and firmly in the “new favourite band” camp.”
