This energetic rumination on middle age and death is – despite the message being that you’ll die alone and forgotten – a cheery old cove. Anyone who can bounce along like Tigger while riffing on the setting sun of your life owns a sharp wit and is not to be trifled with.

I would like to acknowledge that the gigs that are pictured here, the stages they’re played on, the bars and venues they’re held in, and the good times they represent, are all held on lands that were never ceded by Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. I acknowledge these First Australians as the traditional custodians of the continent, whose cultures are among the oldest living cultures in human history. I pay respect to the Elders of the community and extend my recognition to their descendants.
