What I’ve always loved about Matrick Jones is the wilful distortion of reality and expectations. Somewhere, a long time ago, this was a perfectly conventional song. Now it’s been Matricked though, it’s a carnival mirror image, it’s bent and warped and nine types of bonkers. Experimental, deranged, virtuosic – long may Matrick Jones continue to confound and confuse.
