It’s been twenty years since Parkway Drive released their first (solo) EP, and to mark the milestone they’re taking their legendary racket on the road across Australia, with a tour stop in Sydney on 21st Sep at the Qudos Bank Arena.
After seven studio albums (the last three of which went to #1 in Australia), multiple ARIA wins, and numerous more award nominations – including a Best Record shortlist just last year from Rolling Stone for ‘Darker Still’ – they’ve not only stayed the course for two decades, but are arguably as powerful a force as they ever were.
Without a doubt one of the most significant – and loud – bands Australia has ever produced, it’s not all been smooth sailing. In 2022, they cancelled their 20+-date North American tour, citing the pressures of being in a band on their mental health. At the time though, they also assured us that while they were taking a break, they were “here to stay“.
