Most Playlisted: Beddy Rays, Clay J Gladstone

Two weeks in a row! Beddy Rays’ “Handful” managed to appear on another hatful of new music playlists this week, retaining the top spot for the second week. This is madly rare (the last time anyone did that was about a year ago), and a big signal of how wide the support is for this brilliant band.

🥇Beddy Rays

🥈Agung Mango, Sampa The Great, Stella Donnelly, Teenage Dads, Telenova, The Rions

🥉Arno Faraji, Clay J Gladstone, FELIVAND, Gordi, Ivey, King Stingray, cln

Quite a few artists continued to get support, but new ones from Stella Donnelly and The Rions both bagged a ton of spots. Elsewhere, tracks from FELIVAND, Gordi, Ivey, King Stingray, and cln all commanded broad support across the lists.

Story Of The Week though goes to Clay J Gladstone, whose twitchy, explosive new track “Hate Club” stormed into the lists, with support from both a good handful of the indies, but also from Spotify and Triple J lists, support that puts them alongside some noticeably more established acts.

The image above is a screenshot of the top end of the full lists. You can see this week’s lists here – those are updated on Mondays and allow you to scroll down the whole list. That page also details a bit more about how the whole thing works and what the charts mean.

You can also listen to the most playlisted tracks on, er, a playlist that I keep updated here. This has got the latest 50-ish most playlisted tracks from the last month or so on it, and it’s a decent spin through recent tracks that Australian new music playlisters are adding. The playlists that I track are the same as the ones listed in the Playlist Guide.
