Most Playlisted: Budjerah, The Velvet Club

Budjerah and The Velvet Club topped the list this week, gaining the most adds to the most credible Australian new music playlists. Both artists did well to stand out in a fuzzy week of few clear winners, with the former making it onto three of Spotify’s premium playlists including New Music Friday  & NZ, and the latter doing incredibly well, gaining spots on strong independent lists as well as Spotify’s Fresh Finds AU & NZ.

Most Playlisted This Week

🥇Budjerah, The Velvet Club

🥈filous, Angie McMahon, Royel Otis, Husky, Death Bells, MID CITY, CC:DISCO!, OK Hotel

Just behind them was a pack of other artists, with Royel Otis continuing to be supported as they rise, and Husky, Death Bells, and CC:DISCO! (ft Confidence Man) all performing strongly. Angie McMahon and MID CITY both had outstanding second weeks for their latest releases, and Golden Vessel nearly popped to the top with their collab with filous.

Story Of The Week though goes to the excellent OK Hotel, with their debut album ‘Come and Find Me’ seeing them get strong levels of playlist adds up against some strong competition.

The image above is a screenshot of the top end of the full lists. You can see this week’s lists here – those are updated on Mondays and allow you to scroll down the whole list. That page also details a bit more about how the whole thing works and what the charts mean.

You can also listen to the most playlisted tracks on, er, a playlist that I keep updated here. This has got the latest 50-ish most playlisted tracks from the last month or so on it, and it’s a decent spin through recent tracks that Australian new music playlisters are adding. The playlists that I track are the same as the ones listed in the Playlist Guide.
