Most Playlisted: Elsy Wameyo

In a slightly slower week for releases, Elsy Wameyo was still a clear favourite on the best Australian new music playlists, with ‘Piny Lara’ gaining support across the board. For an emerging act to nab top spot is always impressive, and makes her a clear one to watch this year.

Most Playlisted This Week

🥇Elsy Wameyo

🥈Alice Ivy

🥉 DIVEBAR YOUTH

Alice Ivy was in the silver spot, gaining strong backing for ‘Popstar’, her latest collab with UK artist Låpsley, while DIVEBAR YOUTH’s prolific run of releases also continued, putting them on the podium this week with ‘SO SLOW’.

I’d also look a bit further down the list this week – releases from ioakim and King Ibis did particularly well to rank so highly.

The image above is a screenshot of the top end of the full lists. You can see this week’s lists here – those are updated on Mondays and allow you to scroll down the whole list. That page also details a bit more about how the whole thing works and what the charts mean.

You can also listen to the most playlisted tracks on, er, a playlist that I keep updated here. This has got the latest 50-ish most playlisted tracks from the last month or so on it, and it’s a decent spin through recent tracks that Australian new music playlisters are adding. The playlists that I track are the same as the ones listed in the Playlist Guide.
