Teenage Joans came out on top as playlisters’ choice, gaining the most adds on the best Australian new music lists this week with their latest ‘Candy Apple’.

It was a difficult week to stand out, with a lot of new releases across slightly less updating playlists. However, Mickey Kojak, Saint Lane, and The Belair Lip Bombs all gained really strong support to appear on around a third of those lists that did update.
Elsewhere, filous, Anna Lunoe, Motez, The Rions, Elizabeth and Annie Hamilton all gained strong backing, and South Summit did exceptionally well to appear near the top of the list again in their second week of release for their ‘Tales Of The Year’ EP.
Story Of The Week though goes to JACOTÉNE, the teenage prodigy from Melbourne, whose second upload to Spotify ‘you already know’ received more spots on more playlists (including on the coveted New Music Friday AU & NZ) than some much more established artists.
