Most Playlisted: Tia Gostelow, Caroline & Claude

Tia Gostelow slotted neatly into the top of the list this week, with “Say It To My Face” bagging the most adds to the best new music playlists in Australia.

Most Playlisted This Week

🥇Tia Gostelow

🥈Caroline & Claude, Horror My Friend

🥉Abby Bella May, Freeds, Memphis LK, Surf Trash

Just behind though were Horror My Friend, whose return to the fray this year culminated in their “repaper” album – one of the best bands in Australia, the support is richly earned. More in 2023 please and thank you.

In a great week for more emerging artists, Abby Bella May, Freeds, and Memphis LK all grabbed loads of real estate, while Surf Trash also barrelled into the top end of the list with the excellent “The Last One”.

Caroline & Claude though were (for the fourth time this year!) the Story Of The Week, only just missing out on the top spot with tracks from their barmy and brilliant “Nan’s USB” EP. This off-kilter pop act is looking like a cert to have pulled in the most support for an artist of their size in 2022, and enter 2023 with a huge tailwind.

The image above is a screenshot of the top end of the full lists. You can see this week’s lists here – those are updated on Mondays and allow you to scroll down the whole list. That page also details a bit more about how the whole thing works and what the charts mean.

You can also listen to the most playlisted tracks on, er, a playlist that I keep updated here. This has got the latest 50-ish most playlisted tracks from the last month or so on it, and it’s a decent spin through recent tracks that Australian new music playlisters are adding. The playlists that I track are the same as the ones listed in the Playlist Guide.
