🏆 The Champ: Ed Sheeran
With his 110m+ Spotify followers, Ed Sheeran was the biggest artist to appear across all of the biggest nine New Music Fridays this week, with “Eyes Closed“.
🚀 The Challenger: Rina Sawayama
Sticking with the ocular theme, Rina Sawayama’s track from the newly-released John Wick flick, “Eye For An Eye“, also hit all nine of the big NMFs, their 300k followers the smallest following to achieve the feat.
🥊 Punching Above: Leony
Leony got some strong support this week, with “Holding On” making it onto five of the big nine. That’s not easy with less than 100k followers, and in a week where there were a disporportionate number of heavier weight releases, a notable feat.
🧛♂️ New Blood: LP Giobbi
LP Giobbi managed to crack no less than six of the biggest nine NMFs with “If Love Is A Skill” – that’s great support for an artist with less than 40k followers, her collab here with Sofi Tukker (650k+ followers) bearing fruit.
