Most Playlisted: The Rions

The Rions latest shiny blast “Scary Movies” got the most spots on the most credible Australian new music playlists this week, taking up space on over a third of them.

Most Playlisted This Week

🥇The Rions

🥈Body Type, Milku, dust

🥉Aodhan, RVG, The Teskey Brothers

The always-excellent Body Type were hot on their heels though, with their latest track “Holding On” continuing the build up to their next album Expired Candy, their second LP in the space of just a year.

Elsewhere, The Teskey Brothers received the sort of support you’d expect for an artist that size, while Aodhan and RVG continued to charm with their latest tracks.

There was a surfeit of emerging talent in the top end though, with Milku and dust both sharing Story Of The Week honours. These acts are still early in their journey, but both managed to snag enough attention – Milku with “Real Like A Feeling” and dust with their latest “Joy (Guilt)” as well as repeat adds for previous track “Ward 52” – to get more playlist real estate than some far more established artists.

The images above is a screenshot of the top end of the full lists. You can see this week’s lists here – those are updated on Mondays and allow you to scroll down the whole list. That page also details a bit more about how the whole thing works and what the charts mean.

You can also listen to the most playlisted tracks on, er, a playlist that I keep updated here. This has got the latest 50-ish most playlisted tracks from the last month or so on it, and it’s a decent spin through recent tracks that Australian new music playlisters are adding. The playlists that I track are the same as the ones listed in the Playlist Guide.
