🏆 The Champ: Sam Smith
The big dog this week was Sam Smith (20m+ followers), whose collab with Kim Petras, “Unholy”, landed them on top of the pile, the most-followed artist to appear on all nine of the biggest New Music Friday lists worldwide.
🚀 The Challenger: Zoe Wees
Making some serious moves, Zoe Wees (344k followers) this week busted onto all nine of the big lists with “Daddy’s Eyes“, appearing as many times as artists with many multiples of her following – a big signal of even bigger things to come.
💡 The New Threat: GloRilla
GloRilla has already got some heft of her own across the socials, but her latest drop “Tomorrow 2” (feat. Cardi B) is likely to give a sizeable boost to her 40k Spotify following, especially after appearing on a whopping six of the big nine lists.
💣 Exploding Into View: Cate
Looking further out towards the horizon, Cate barrelled onto four of our nine NMFs (as far apart as the Canada, the UK, Sweden, and Australia) with “The Ruler”, a really strong performance for a (relatively!) emerging artist.
