“Wolf Cola popped up as supports at shows a couple of times last year, and I remember them being a bit more genre-hopping than they are tonight, more boogie in the grunge. No matter though, the 2016 version is pretty fun – even if their usual fourth member has, unforgiveably, bailed on them tonight in favour of some university ball – and the songs are a lot more uniform than I remember. This is a good thing. It jangles in some places and fuzzes and thrums in others but even despite the “unprofessional” stage banter, there’s plenty here to keep us happy, and it feels like a solid and coherent set.”
