BOYSCLUB – Best For You

BOYSCLUB may take the pace down a notch for their third single but the intensity remains, an echo of Smashing Pumpkins’ downbeat wall of sound. Their themes have always been confrontational, and once again this is emotionally tough going. That said, while they may not be for the faint of heart they’re absolutely chock full of it – it’s hard to hear these stories of life heading off into difficult terrain, but there’s a comfort in going there together.

I would like to acknowledge that the gigs that are pictured here, the stages they’re played on, the bars and venues they’re held in, and the good times they represent, are all held on lands that were never ceded by Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. I acknowledge these First Australians as the traditional custodians of the continent, whose cultures are among the oldest living cultures in human history. I pay respect to the Elders of the community and extend my recognition to their descendants.
