The Goldhearts – Shooter’s Party

Straight from a box full of B-52s-ish wonkiness, The Goldhearts groove through a track that’s a lot angrier than it sounds. The cheery shuffle of the music somehow emphasises the satire though – it’s like hearing a child swear. A crackling little song, with big thoughts on its mind.

I would like to acknowledge that the gigs that are pictured here, the stages they’re played on, the bars and venues they’re held in, and the good times they represent, are all held on lands that were never ceded by Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. I acknowledge these First Australians as the traditional custodians of the continent, whose cultures are among the oldest living cultures in human history. I pay respect to the Elders of the community and extend my recognition to their descendants.
