Most Playlisted This Week
A madly busy week for quality releases saw the best new music playlists in Australia struggle to come to a consensus, but four artists managed to rise just above the crowded pack.
🥇aleksiah, Amyl & The Sniffers, EGOISM, JK-47
🍟 Takeouts:
- There was a huge range of new tracks on offer this week – seeing over 850 different tracks by over 750 artists across the lists I track is a *lot*.
- There were an awful lot of high quality tracks in there too, which usually means it’s harder to see consensus – that’s why this week, only four artists made it to the top of the pile. No surprise to Amyl & the Sniffers up there (esp with a new album out this week), but JK-47, aleksiah, and EGOISM all received strong backing.
- It’s also a good week to look further down the list – there are loads of really strong tracks out there this week. A. Swayze & The Ghosts, Hayley Mary, Le Shiv, and total tommy for instance – in a less busy week – would likely have seen a wider spread of adds.

The image above is a screenshot of the top end of the full lists. You can see this week’s lists here – those are updated on Mondays and allow you to scroll down the whole list. That page also details a bit more about how the whole thing works and what the charts mean.
You can also listen to the most playlisted tracks on, er, a playlist that I keep updated here. This has got the latest 50-ish most playlisted tracks from the last month or so on it, and it’s a decent spin through recent tracks that Australian new music playlisters are adding. The playlists that I track are the same as the ones listed in the Playlist Guide.
