Most Playlisted: DOBBY, dust

Most Playlisted This Week

DOBBY and dust topped the league for the most adds across the best Australian new music playlists this week. Both younger artists – of very different genres – it’s great to see each of them continue to get strong support across the board.

🥇dust, DOBBY

🥈merci, mercy, Hayley Mary, Girl and Girl, ioakim

🥉Hockey Dad, Death by Denim, Jess Day, RINSE

Meanwhile, a crowded pack for the runner-up spot saw merci, mercy, Hayley Mary, and Girl and Girl all bag an armload of spots for their latest releases.

Elsewhere, Hockey Dad received the usual amount of support for such a beloved band, while Death By Denim and Jess Day also garnered some strong backing.

Unusually, RINSE made it into the top three this week, in the second week after release for ‘Kiss Me (Kill Me)’. Just outside of the top three last week, this week’s haul of spots actually makes this collab with Hatchie the most playlisted track of the last fortnight – a slower burn, but it looks like a bunch of people caught on this week. Quite right too.

Story Of The Week though goes to ioakim, whose second-place finish outpaced some more established artists, ticking the boxes of a bunch of playlisters – including a coveted New Music Friday AU & NZ spot – for ‘wishiwasyourgirlfriend’.

The image above is a screenshot of the top end of the full lists. You can see this week’s lists here – those are updated on Mondays and allow you to scroll down the whole list. That page also details a bit more about how the whole thing works and what the charts mean.

You can also listen to the most playlisted tracks on, er, a playlist that I keep updated here. This has got the latest 50-ish most playlisted tracks from the last month or so on it, and it’s a decent spin through recent tracks that Australian new music playlisters are adding. The playlists that I track are the same as the ones listed in the Playlist Guide.
