Most Playlisted: KIAN (ft Becca Hatch)

KIAN’s latest fizzy banger “All Of Me” was the runaway most-added track on the most credible Australian new music playlists this week, his collab with the outstanding Becca Hatch making it onto nearly 40% of them.

Most Playlisted This Week

🥇KIAN (ft Becca Hatch)

🥈Ripple Effect Band, Tash Sultana

🥉1tbsp, Genesis Owusu, Mason Dane, Sweetie, The Buoys, Trophy Eyes, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Yves Tumour

Tash Sultana also got some serious support this week for “James Dean”, but right alongside her Ripple Effect Band stayed near the top for a second week – that’s unusual enough but especially so for an act relatively early in its journey.

Elsewhere, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Genesis Owusu, Yves Tumour, and Trophy Eyes all did as well as you’d expect for artists of that calibre, with Mason Dane and 1tbsp also gaining notable support. Great to see The Buoys bubbling near the top for a second week too, with their fabulous track “I Want You”.

While Sweetie released their excellent “Liminal Bliss” track last week, they get the Story Of The Week nod this time around. For an emerging act to do even better in week 2 of a release AND to keep pace or nudge ahead of some far larger artists is a signal that they’ve turned some serious heads.

The image above is a screenshot of the top end of the full lists. You can see this week’s lists here – those are updated on Mondays and allow you to scroll down the whole list. That page also details a bit more about how the whole thing works and what the charts mean.

You can also listen to the most playlisted tracks on, er, a playlist that I keep updated here. This has got the latest 50-ish most playlisted tracks from the last month or so on it, and it’s a decent spin through recent tracks that Australian new music playlisters are adding. The playlists that I track are the same as the ones listed in the Playlist Guide.
