Most Playlisted This Week
Each week, my robots scour the best Australian new music playlists and look for who is getting the love from the most critics and tastemakers. This week’s podium finishers:
🥇The Terrys (appeared on 29% of updated playlists)
🥈Mikayla Pasterfield, Armlock (25%)
🥉Esha Tewari, The Vanns, Press Club, Carla Wehbe, Jem Cassar-Daley, DIVEBAR YOUTH, Clea, Vv Pete, MUDRAT, Jo Davie (21%)

Takeouts
- After two public-holiday Fridays in a row (meaning most people weren’t working or releasing anything), the flood-gates re-opened this week with more than 600 different tracks making it onto the playlists I track. With all that choice though, it meant a whopping 13 artists made it onto the podium this week.
- Sitting pretty at the top though, popular as ever, were The Terrys, bagging their fourth (!) gold medal since Sept for ‘Catalonia Dreams‘.
- Mikayla Pasterfield and Armlock shared the runner-up slot, a triumph for both emerging and quieter artists, especially in such a crowded field.
- Also making it to the podium was a massive list of artists, ranging from the better-known to the brand new. Esha Tewari falls into both categories, and her ongoing popularity with playlisters remained rock-solid for her ‘latest ‘wraith‘ EP.
- The Vanns and Press Club are always reliable in terms of both quality and playlister support, so it’s no surprise to see them perform well this week, with Carla Wehbe, Jem Cassar-Daley, DIVEBAR YOUTH and Clea also performing strongly.
- Vv Pete did particularly well to rate so highly this week, appearing on the podium for two weeks in a row, while it was great to see MUDRAT’s chaotic racket making it to the podium.
- Jo Davie was the standout though this week, with this emerging artist both keeping pace with bolder-faced names and staying ahead of a massive range of other tracks on offer.
