Most Playlisted: Yb.

Yb.’s latest “BULLETPROOF” got more spots on the best Australian new music playlists this week than any other artist, quite the achievement in a strong and crowded week of releases.

Most Playlisted This Week

🥇Yb.

🥈merci, mercy, 1300

🥉Dulcie, Tasman Keith, Somber Hills

Not far behind though were merci, mercy and 1300 who also bagged a wide spread of playlists slots – both artists have been well-backed all year and that support shows no signs of slowing.

Elsewhere, Dulcie and Tasman Keith also did particularly well, and it’s interesting this week that every artist with a podium finish this week is more emerging than established – every artist, in fact, has a Spotify following of less than 20k.

It’s not like there weren’t more established artists to choose from either this week, either. While the Story Of The Week goes to Somber Hills (who did brilliantly well to make it near the top of the list with their collab with BESTIES), all six of these artists outperformed some more well-known artists.

The image above is a screenshot of the top end of the full lists. You can see this week’s lists here – those are updated on Mondays and allow you to scroll down the whole list. That page also details a bit more about how the whole thing works and what the charts mean.

You can also listen to the most playlisted tracks on, er, a playlist that I keep updated here. This has got the latest 50-ish most playlisted tracks from the last month or so on it, and it’s a decent spin through recent tracks that Australian new music playlisters are adding. The playlists that I track are the same as the ones listed in the Playlist Guide.
