Wearing its best arched eyebrow and its finest tailored trouser, Salarymen’s third release is another high-shine jaunt into 60s-inspired art-pop, and it’s another well-crafted piece. The slightly psychotic jaunt of the organ parps around in your mind while the rest of song swirls around in a cloud of suspiciously sweet-smelling smoke, sounding shiny new and classically old all at once. The absolute opposite of disposable consumerism, this is the sort of stuff that’s been built to outlast mere fashion.

I would like to acknowledge that the gigs that are pictured here, the stages they’re played on, the bars and venues they’re held in, and the good times they represent, are all held on lands that were never ceded by Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. I acknowledge these First Australians as the traditional custodians of the continent, whose cultures are among the oldest living cultures in human history. I pay respect to the Elders of the community and extend my recognition to their descendants.
