Most Playlisted This Week
For the second time in two months, Milan Ring took out the most spots on the Australian new music playlists, with tracks from her full-length ‘Mangos‘ arriving with a burst of support from across the spectrum.

🥈The Buoys
🥉KUČKA, Elizabeth M. Drummond

Only a smidge behind though, The Buoys also rocketed back into view with their excellent new track ‘Check Mate‘ – arriving alongside the news that their ‘Lustre’ album will be released in July, this fine band are still enjoying wide support.
Elsewhere, KUČKA dropped her latest track, the ominously-titled ‘Wasting Time (til the end of the world)‘. An always-popular artist with critics and playlisters, this week saw more of the strong support you’d expect to see.
Elizabeth M. Drummond bags Story Of The Week though, grabbing a spot on the all-female podium with ‘Everything‘, seeing a wide spread of support from heavy-hitters like Spotify’s New Music AU & NZ as well as a slew of indie & grassroots lists.
As a final side note, literate post-punk indie also had a bit of a moment this week, with both Kitschen Boy and Radio Free Alice scratching at the door of the top spots. Both artists are growing quickly, and this week’s burst of big-league support makes them two artists to keep a sharp eye on.
